I would like to create awareness about financial and visit opportunities at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John’s University.
For students that are interested in Chemistry or Biochemistry, they can apply for the FOCUS scholarship. This competitive $18,500 annual scholarship is for males and females and features a supportive cohort design. Students with this scholarship take one class per semester with the students in their cohort, and are taught by professors that also act as their mentors. For more information about the FOCUS scholarship, click here. For a look at the chemistry facilities at CSB/SJU, please click here.
For women that are interested in Engineering, Physics, Math and Computer Science, they can apply for the MAPCORES scholarship. This competitive $18,500 annual scholarship also features the cohort design and actively seeks to support women from low income underrepresented backgrounds. For more information on the MAPCORES scholarship, click here.
The Intercultural-Lead Fellowship is a scholarship for low income, first generation students from diverse backgrounds and high school. This $10,000 a year scholarship features bi-weekly seminars that provide support and engage first generation students within the college setting. Students apply for this program by writing an essay on: “How has your ethnic background and/or your involvement with cultural activities in your school and community helped you to better appreciate diversity? How do you intend to use your knowledge and skills to further the CSB/SJU goal of deepening intercultural understanding?” For more information on Intercultural-Lead, click here.
Once a student has been accepted at CSB/SJU, we offer a fly-in assistant program. We book their flight, pick them up from the airport, pay for their meals on campus, have them tour the campuses, and more. We cover half or more of the cost for an accepted student to visit the campuses.
