Financial Aid 101 Workshop at Davidson College, Oct. 23

Now in its eighth year, Davidson College’s Office of Admission and Financial Aid is sponsoring a professional development workshop: Financial Aid 101 – A College Education is Affordable. Christopher Gruber, Vice President and Dean of Admission and Financial Aid, will be presenting this year’s workshop.

This program is free of charge to all college guidance counselors interested in attending.

What:  Financial Aid 101 will cover:

  • need-based financial aid (definitions, packaging, strategies)
  • grant and scholarship programs
  • federal and institutional methodologies
  • FAFSA and CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE
  • supplemental loan programs and payment plans
  • merit-based scholarships

Who: This program is appropriate for new counselors and veterans alike. Attendees will be awarded certificates of completion with verification of three contact hours of professional development.

Where:  Financial Aid 101 will be held on Wednesday, October 23rd at Prep for Prep (328 West 71st Street, New York, NY).

When: Registration will open at 9:00 a.m. The workshop begins at 9:30 a.m. and will end by noon. A light continental breakfast will be served.
