I’m First project for first-generation college students

This fall, as part of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation’s College Knowledge Challenge, nonprofit Center for Student Opportunity officially launched the I’m First project to celebrate and support first-generation college students across the country.

First-generation college graduates, and students who will be, are creating YouTube videos to share their first-gen stories. Here are some tips and instructions to have your first-gen students, alumni, staff, and supporters create their own video to add to the project.

Also, aspiring first-gens, and those who advise them, are signing up to access the I’m First Dashboard, where users can research and connect with colleges that care about first-generation college students and find valuable information and support to guide them on the road to and through college. Please encourage your students and staff to sign up!

Please contact help@imfirst.org with questions or to request a presentation and demo for your school or organization.
