I am writing with exciting news from Colby College: at its fall meeting, Colby’s Board of Trustees authorized a new investment in financial aid totaling $1.2 million for this admissions cycle.
We recognize that the cost of higher education is of major concern, and these funds will enable us to offer admission to many more highly qualified students regardless of their families’ financial situations. If you have students who are interested in Colby, I hope you will make them aware of these new grant funds.
Our longstanding commitments to making a Colby education accessible remain unchanged:
- Colby meets the full calculated need of all admitted students.
- Colby is “no-loan”—that is, we meet full need through grants
alone in our financial aid packages.
- Colby does not charge an application fee.
- Financial aid is applicable to study-abroad program costs,
including some non-tuition expenses.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about Colby, our financial aid policies, or the type of student who is most likely to be qualified for and excel at Colby.
With best wishes,
Interim Vice President and Dean of Admissions and Financial Aid
